NEW X-SHAPED SCHOOL COMPLEX, BUSCA

Embracing the local community

The structure, designed by Settanta7 for the Municipality of Busca, features an X-shaped layout of two adjacent volumes developed along the longitudinal axis. The school is designed to accommodate about 800 students and to house 32 classrooms: 16 in the Primary School and 16 in the Secondary School. To design the rooms and spaces, a participatory approach was adopted, relying on the collaboration with the School Head Office, the teachers and the administration to best meet the needs of innovative teaching. To comply with relevant energy and environmental sustainability standards, the project is undergoing the process to obtain ITACA Certificate from iiSBE. Project developed in partnership with Casalgrande Padana for the façade with Diamant ceramic tiles.
